The Night the Animals Talked

This full-length Christmas play by Patricia Barry Rumble features 5 characters: 2 women, 1 girl, 1 boy and 1 male voice. 1 Interior Setting. About 70 minutes.
If you want a heart-warming American play for Christmas … one that is easily produced with a small cast … then this is the play for you.
This unique, contemporary piece illuminates the excitement two days before Christmas. The play revolves around the McCullough family: the mother, her two children and Mammaw, their grandmother, who has written a play based on the legend that on the night Christ was born the animals talked. In the midst of all this holiday fun and chaos, a crisis occurs which could mean tragedy and a very sad Christmas for the family. But all is resolved in the exciting finale – with a miracle that relates directly to the title of the play.
